Thursday Thirteen Graphic

Thirteen Things I Plan To Do This Weekend

1. Packing and moving some stuff into storage, grabbing an extra bed from storage and beginning work on a cool bedroom we’ve been working on. Yahoo! I’ve been waiting for this and I am excited!

2. Watch a movie or something else with my two youngest girls, perhaps bake cupcakes because they have been asking. And because Mike is taking the two oldest to see Spiderwick. Yeah!

3. Laundry - because when don’t I?

4. Horseback Riding Lessons - I am actually kinda happy. It’s super relaxed and awesome there right now ’cause 12 horses are at a really well-known show in Mississippi right now. It’s super quiet and really nice.

5. Get some serious writing done because the month of March we’ll be hectic - my kids are off school for three weeks on cycle break so I need to get some writing done before that.

6. Stalk the UPS guy for my awesome boxes coming. I love working for myself! (actually I don’t think the boxes will be here until Tuesday maybe…gotta check the tracking).

7. Purchase some curtains for the new room we are working and actually get them hung up before Mike returns to work.

8. Make something new Sunday night for dinner. I’ve been planning something new coming up. and I guess I am doing that Sunday ’cause well - I just want to.

9. Buy some posterboard, I have some HUGE signs to make this weekend. More on that later. I’m really excited!

10. Need to sort through some pictures this weekend to find the rejects. More on that later.

11. Move some firewood into our garage to dry out because we are planning a bonfire soon.

12. Groom Max. He needs a bath and nail clippings. A few trims here and there and we’re good. But it takes a bit of time to do it.

13. Enjoy it!

Yowser!

I think the thing I absolutely hate the very most about the American Idol results shows is that they expect these people to sing when they are leaving. Your exit song. Wtf? Why?

Why do they need to torture these people? Their dreams, their hearts have been shattered. They probably want to do anything but sing at that moment.

I was sad to see Alaina go. I actually liked her.

Kinda mad to still see Amanda and Danny, except imagine - that crappy website Vote for the Worst has them as the top two worst….that’s why they are still there. *sigh*

Are you kidding me?

OMG I Want These!

Oh.My.Gosh. Wow! You should see the kitchen’s that are shown in this video from YouTube…I so want one like that!

Contemporary Kitchen Design

These kitchens appear to be totally customizable with the cool cabinets you can put in place. They are simply gorgeous and I can see all sorts of possibilities for my kitchen either when we move or in a totally new house. Those are gorgeous!

I love the fact that they come in all those different colors and that the colors kind of accent the kitchen. Some of them have that seemingly sleek design, while others have an almost retro feel. I love those brown wooden ones towards the beginning of the video and the one that looks like the cabinets open up from from bottom to top rather than from side to side. Those are so beautiful and cool. It actually looks like that company has a ton to choose from and it looks so beautiful. Be sure and check it out!!!

I had the pleasure of recently watching a friend of mine who just completed her nursing program, deal with a minor injury completely outside of the medical world. In fact, it happened in her own front yard. The first thing I was surprised about is how calm she stayed. Never losing her cool, never freaking out when she saw lots of blood, she simply worked until she had it all cleaned up. Then she assessed the damage, responded the way it needed to be dealt with, and what was even cooler is that because she stayed calm, the child calmed down and was easy to talk and work with.

Nursing is an absolutely awesome field to be in. One of the things that makes it great is that nurses are continuously in demand. This makes find a job much easier when you have completed any type of nursing program like the LVN programs. My friend is working an “on call” type of job right now and her hours are very strange, but she is planning on finding something with a bit more stability soon, because she has a family. She is also a single mom raising two beautiful daughters who need her as much as the sick people do. There is a great balance between family and nursing I’ve noticed.

It has crossed my mind on more than one occasion to go to school and become a Licensed Vocational Nurse, or something similar. I like the idea of being able to complete school in only a few short years and being able to go out and get a job immediately where I am helping others.

I think the programs that the Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts offers are extremely beneficial to those seeking a vocational position. And they seem to have an awesome Vocational Nursing Program which doesn’t seem difficult to complete. I was also really excited to see an Ultrasound Technician course available because I already have a brief background in this field and it was what I wanted to go to school for. The programs seem reasonably priced for what they offer and additionally they offer and require internships during your course of study. This is a great way to get yourself into a position after you have completed your internship.

It seems that the possibilities with nursing are endless.

Kinda Cool

I actually kinda thought this video was pretty cool. I think it’s neat they can do that. The rest of their videos they are both playing and they sound fine, I just like the way this one is together. Plus you can tell they enjoy it and have fun.

A Morning Laugh

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, ‘I think I’ll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out’?

Who was the first one who thought that the white thing that came from a hen’s butt looked edible?

Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp which no decent human being would eat?

Why is there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer?

Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about him?

Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane?

If the professor on Gilligan’s Island can make a radio out of coconut, why can’t he fix a hole in a boat?

Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don’t point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Why does your OB-GYN leave the room when you get undressed if they are going to look up there anyway?

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They’re both dogs!

What do you call male ballerinas?

Why ARE Trix only for kids?

Why is a person that handles your money called a ‘Broker’?

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests? (wiping coffee off the laptop screen at that one)

If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, then what is baby oil made from?

If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

Is Disney World the only people trap operated by a mouse?

Why do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog’s face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window.

Why is it that when someone tells you that there are over a billion stars in the universe, you believe them, but if they tell you there is wet paint somewhere, you have to touch it to make sure?

Ringtone Mania

I love my Verizon wireless cell phone and service. The only thing my phone lacked when I got it, was good ringtones but there are plenty of other features. The ringtones were boring symphonic sounds and I wanted something with a bit of pizazz. The deal is, they add up in price. I spent a fortune in ringtones the first year, and eventually you get tired of them, you get sick of hearing the same music over and over again.

It is also really hard to find free verizon ringtones. I have looked and looked and when you do find free ringtones it is typically some unknown artist or an unpopular song. Totally not what you want. Hopefully you will have better luck, for now I am stuck with the bunch I downloaded from the verizon website awhile back, because I just cannot possibly keep downloading them. My phone can’t hold anymore and who wants to delete something they paid for?
