When I was a little girl, I can remember that I would often sit in the corner of my grandparents family room and just stare at the large grandfather clock in the corner. The whole concept of the chains and the swinging pendulum were mesmerizing to me as a child.

When I got old enough to actually own one on my own, I really didn’t have the room for some of the more traditional grandfather clocks. They are actually quite large and very bulky and heavy. So I settled for a small replica of a full-size clock; one that sat one my mantle above my fireplace.

With the fact that it is almost Mother’s Day, and I would like a practical, Useful Mother’s Day Gift , and the fact that we are doing some major remodeling in our home, I thought it would be cool to get a new clock for our soon-to-be-updated family room. It would be a great gift - don’t you think? *hint* *hint*, honey.

Looking around both in stores and on the Internet, there seems to be a wide variety of choices, but I really think I am more drawn to the more moderngrandfather clock(s) of today. There are such a wide variety of different shapes and sizes and styles, which to me makes it something I could pass along to my children someday and it would still be a beautiful trendy piece. I particularly like the Howard Miller Mercer Grandfather Clocks. They seem to have that look that I am talking about. The versatile it ‘goes in any room’ look.

It truly amazes me the different looks you can get in a grandfather clock, and the fact that they compliment your areas and you don’t have to go with an antique theme just to get one to coordinate. So, the photograph of the clock to the right depicts exactly the type I would love to have.

We were outside working in the yard yesterday, and this family went by with this awesome stroller. I liked it because it was a double jogging stroller, side by side that I hadn’t seen before. I asked her if she liked it, and yep - she loves it. She raved and ranted about it. I love taking walks and I often times watch my friends kids for her (they are 9 mos. and almost 2 years old.)

While she has a double stroller that she was able to find great strollers reviews on, it doesn’t do well on long walks and it doesn’t glide as easily, and it’s also a front and back stroller rather than side by side.

So I came inside and immediately searched for strollers reviews and found this little jogging double stroller she had, and I’m getting one. It will be awesome to have for any kids I happen to watch, (not my own since they are all much older).

If you are looking for a great stroller, before you buy, you should look up strollers reviews because you’ll get a good idea for what is available, the cost and what others are saying about it. Plus, the rating plays a huge part in how good the stroller is.

I am so out of the loop with two 13 year olds, an 11 year old, a 10 year old and a 9 year old, it has been a LONG time since I have had to purchase toddler items. Not that I am complaining….too much.

Actually some of my best friends have babies and toddlers and we always seem to be shopping for something for this age group. Who knew that such tiny people needed so many things? It is difficult to find what you are looking for too. Last weekend we were at six stores to find this one stupid food puree thing my friend wanted. She had seen it online. Then why didn’t she just shop for her toddler online? You can get all sorts of products for babies and toddlers online.

Guess what we never found and what she had to order? Yep! It probably cost her less buying it online too, except we spent a load in gas that day running around just to shop for a toddler. However, we did find some really cute toddler clothing while shopping around online for this food puree thing. I had no idea that shopping online could be so much fun!

Is there really such a thing? The ‘perfect gift’ - seems almost subjective to me. However, you know what I really don’t like? Trying to find a gift for someone who has EVERYTHING?

It is time’s like this that I venture beyond my comfort zone and try and think outside the box. I want to get something for someone that is memorable, yet exciting and thrilling to receive all at the same time.

I think I might have found the prefect gift for those that have everything or who you cannot think of anything to buy for.

I think the thing I absolutely hate the very most about the American Idol results shows is that they expect these people to sing when they are leaving. Your exit song. Wtf? Why?

Why do they need to torture these people? Their dreams, their hearts have been shattered. They probably want to do anything but sing at that moment.

I was sad to see Alaina go. I actually liked her.

Kinda mad to still see Amanda and Danny, except imagine - that crappy website Vote for the Worst has them as the top two worst….that’s why they are still there. *sigh*

Contemporary Kitchen Design

These kitchens appear to be totally customizable with the cool cabinets you can put in place. They are simply gorgeous and I can see all sorts of possibilities for my kitchen either when we move or in a totally new house. Those are gorgeous!

I love the fact that they come in all those different colors and that the colors kind of accent the kitchen. Some of them have that seemingly sleek design, while others have an almost retro feel. I love those brown wooden ones towards the beginning of the video and the one that looks like the cabinets open up from from bottom to top rather than from side to side. Those are so beautiful and cool. It actually looks like that company has a ton to choose from and it looks so beautiful. Be sure and check it out!!!
